The Shamrock Shake!

The infamous McDonald’s Shamrock Shake is slowly filtering into many McDonald’s locations. The mint flavored, green-dyed vanilla milkshake, is a seasonal dessert sold at McDonald’s during parts of February and March to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

This wonderful beverage has taken on a cult-like following. Before the shakes even arrive the buzz throughout the networks starts streaming in preparation for this tasty delight. The shake also comes at a perfect time, right before spring and summer, a crucial time that can destroy anyone’s “Summer Body” diet.

I have been hearing some rumors this year about the Shamrock Shake. From what I have been told, the Shamrock Shake is a lot less minty and not as thick. Also, McDonald’s has added whipped cream and a cherry to the shake. I was unaware whipped cream even had a use outside of the bedroom.

Here is the nutritional information for one 16-ounce Shamrock Shake:

      Calories: 550
      Total fat: 13 grams
      Saturated fat: 8 grams
      Trans fat: 1 gram
      Carbohydrate: 96 grams
      Protein: 13 grams

The 16-ounce Shamrock Shake is considered a small. So if you are feeling frisky and upgrade to a large, you’ll consume about 1,100 calories! Add that into the rest of the food McDonald’s has to offer and you are on your way to an early heart attack!

With my daily workout routine and healthier living style, this is going to be a hard shake to resist. If I closed my eyes and had to picture what Ireland would taste like, I would figure it tastes like a Shamrock Shake. Me being Irish, naturally I am drawn to this glorious shake. Unfortunately I am going to have to avoid the Shamrock Shake- that is until St. Patrick’s Day. I have devised a plan that will give myself and you the ability to justify the calorie intake. Just add Clique Vodka.

Check out this kid, he gets a Shamrock Shake and becomes an instant pimp!
