The Amazing Spiderman | July 3rd 2012
SYNOPSIS: Peter Parker, a teenager who is an outcast from high school and abandoned by his parents when he was young and is now living with his Uncle Ben and Aunt May, spends his days trying to unravel the mystery of his own past and winning the heart of his high school crush, Gwen Stacy. Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase belonging to his dad which leads him to his dad’s former partner, Dr. Connors. The discovery of his father’s secret will ultimately shape his destiny of becoming “Spider-Man” and bring him face to face to Connor’s alter ego, the Lizard.
The film’s development began simultaneously with Sony announcing the cancellation of Spider-Man 4. Opting for a reboot with the same production team rather than another sequel, the studio announced a July 2012 release date for what was now titled The Amazing Spiderman.
Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Irrfan Khan and Dennis Leary.
@PatHanavan’s Thoughts:
Why the F wouldn’t I be pumped about this!? The original Spiderman movie’s success is what brought comic books to life on the big screen. My only issues with the original was Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst. I thought they both were terrible in those movies. Trading Tobey off for the whinny kid from the Social Network is not exactly how I would have casted this but Emma Stone will just have to pick up the slack. But come 4th of July weekend, I will be at the theater watching this!
Let me know if you are going to see this!
