The Avengers are about to expand. In the next 5 years, we’re about to be gifted with 9 new Marvel Universe movies, NOT including Avengers 2: Age of Ultron, but DEFINITELY including a split 2-part movie saga titled Avengers 3: Infinity Wars. We’ll get to all of that in a little bit. Lets stick to the Avengers 2 since that’s unfolding right before our eyes right now. Even though the trailer leaked before Marvel Studios could debut it during yesterday’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Marvel decided to keep moving forward with the prime time showcase and extend the leaked trailer. Lucky you, I’m here to deliver the goods.
Avengers 2: Age of Ultron – Extended Trailer
Not a TON of new content here but there’s an emphasis that needs to be payed close attention to. Ultron is terrifying. He continues to elaborate on how he is no longer tethered, bound or tied down by anyone or anything. Humans on the other hand… humanity in the eyes of the enlightened Ultron is nothing but “puppets tangled in strings”. This is the core of Ultron’s motives. In the original trailer, Ultron has some pretty heavy dialogue that makes you super glad he actually doesn’t exist in reality.
I’m going to show you something beautiful. Everyone screaming for mercy. You want to protect the world, but you don’t want it to change. You’re all puppets tangled in strings… strings. Now I’m free. There are no strings on me.
If you haven’t see the original leaked trailer, you can find that here:
Tony Stark has created one bad bot. It seems safe to say that Ultron is still very much the same in Avengers 2: Age of Ultron as he is in the comics. He strives for total perfection which leads to him redesigning and rebuilding himself numerous times. His view of humanity is that people are inherently flawed and since they can’t be disassembled and rebuilt in a perfect form, they must be eradicated.
