Featuring a variety of tracks that allow attendees to explore what’s next in the worlds of film, culture, music, and technology, SXSW proves that the most unexpected discoveries happen when diverse topics and people come together. This year’s emerging trend of the 2018 SXSW Conference was Globally Connected: We’re All in this Together.
Creative problem solvers from all walks of life have come together to meet and share ideas at this year’s event. Grappling with today (and tomorrow’s) biggest issues, we’ve heard from an inspiring group of people all dedicated to making this world a better place.
As the largest exhibition at SXSW, the Trade Show enhances and complements conference programming with endless unexpected discovery opportunities. In no other place at SXSW will you find this many creative businesses and organizations together in one place. In fact, 2018 brought together more than 300 exhibitors.
The ability to establish meaningful connections continues as one of the main reasons so many members of the music industry, filmmakers and digital creatives come to SXSW each March. These SX connections can lead to new ideas, new opportunities and partnerships, a new round of funding, new jobs, new friendships or even a new long-term romantic relationship.
To boost this connection process, SXSW provides several different forums where registrants can meet and mingle. These range from Meet Ups that focus on a specific topic, whether you’re trying to find your niche or branch out; multi-day Lounges where you can relax and get some work done, and a variety of Parties to attend where you can unwind after a full day of programming.
Each year the SXSW Music Festival hosts a curated mix of artists performing in bars, clubs, parks, churches, hotels, and more in Austin, Texas. Showcases are curated by record labels, booking agencies, management and PR firms, export offices, publishers, media outlets, lifestyle brands, festivals, and more, drawing on a pool of artists looking to enhance their careers by reaching new audiences.
