Excited to again see Eva Green’s flawless rack in 3D, I had a ticket purchased for last night’s premiere of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and was front and center. Even though I heard about the debut of The Hateful Eight trailer at Sin City 2, it completely slipped my mind. I was not ready for it. As the trailers began, within seconds I realized that the on-screen kinetic typography I was seeing was actually the teaser for Tarantino’s new film.
Unfortunately, I was not prepared to have to film a trailer but luckily someone else did. All that will exist online for now is this bootlegged version of the teaser with no telling when the actual teaser will be released.
While ‘The Hateful Eight‘ doesn’t even begin filming until early next year (headed for a December 2015 release date), we got word last week that the first trailer would be attached to prints of ‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For‘ in theaters this week. Which is cool! But, we also got word that the trailer wouldn’t be appearing online. That’s not so cool. – Screen Crush
Not much of a teaser since Tarantino is still in the process of casting the film, but, we’re still promised a December 2015 release date. Will that actually happen, who knows. Knowing Tarantino, he could easily pull some shit to teach the internet an extremely harsh lesson due to what ever supposed agent leaked it.
This is what we know of the plot:
A bounty hunter and his prisoner traveling by stagecoach to a town called Red Rock get stuck in a blizzard and meet other travelers along the way that need a lift. Sidetracked by the blizzard, they stop at a nearby haberdashery to take shelter until the storm passes. While holed up in this haberdashery waiting out the blizzard, coincidences stop looking like coincidences, enemies become allies, secrets escape, and lots of living things get dead.
Who are The Hateful Eight? Here’s what the trailer shows us:
- Major Marquis Warren “The Bounty Hunter”
- John Ruth “The Hangman”
- Daisy Domergue “The Prisoner”
- Chris Mannix “The Sheriff”
- Bob “The Mexican”
- Oswaldo Mobray “The Little Man”
- Joe Gage “The Cow Puncher”
- General Sandy Smithers “The Confederate”
So far according to the IMDB page, Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Bruce Dern, Michael Madsen, Zoë Bell, Tim Roth, Walton Goggins and many more are expected to star, while Jennifer Lawrence is also rumored to be in talks.
If nothing else, I’m excited to see a man punch a cow. You cannot obtain the nickname “The Cow Puncher” by only punching one cow…
