But First, Let Me Take Another Food Porn Pic…..

There are very few things that I bitch about online outside of spiders and squids. I hate them both. This topic about food porn, however, doesn’t necessarily bother me as much as it confuses me. It’s just one of the many social phenomenons I don’t think I will ever understand. For some, it seems as if it is written into people’s genetic code to feel the need to share their about-to-be consumed meals for all their friends to see. Call me strange, but, I’ve just never felt that need to share my food with the world, other than sarcastically.

And it’s not just a select few people (like Bob) within my own social networks. Currently with over 26 million pictures featured in the #FoodPorn hashtag on Instagram, it does not seem as if the social sharing of meals trend will die any time soon. And once the internet gets a hold of a topic, you can usually expect to see greatness arise.

To learn more about the food porn phenomenon, I first searched the hashtag which only lead to some random pictures of people’s pre-eaten meals. I guess to some people, this spread of what looks to be a Grand Slam Breakfast at Denny’s is considered pornographic for their tastebuds.

I then searched deeper into the internet, finding some extremely strange photos of people’s interpretations of what food porn actually is. Honestly, that was kind of what I was hoping for.

Internet, thank you for not letting me down.
